Ah to be Young Again

Greetings Me Droogs N Droogettes!
Light poasting this weekend.  We got the Granbebe here.  Picked her up and man, I forgot just how cool some things are in the world when yer 3 1/2 years old.  One of the things we do when we do the p/u drop off with Other 'Rents, we go throught he car wash.

Which she thinks is purely the shit
Pure, innocent, unadulterated joy at something as silly as a car wash
Now, bearing in mind she's normally in the back, strapped into a really good car seat, but for the special trip through the Car Wash, she gets to ride in front on Gee-Gee's lap.
She giggles and laughs her ass off through the entire thing, calling out the colors and stuff as it cascades over the windows...

Truly... the small things that remind us that not everything has to be doom and gloom all the time
As well as a solid reminder of what we're all fighting to protect
So she doesn't grow up in an Orwellian Nightmare.
Sometimes I forget these things...

And sometimes, I wish I could go back to those carefree days, and I get to at least vicariously, for the 5 minutes we run through the car wash, I laugh a little myself, both at the situation, and the giggles of a truly beautiful lil girl.

We should all strive to have lil moments like that

    1. Nope... the lil 'un in the meme at the bottom was the one who got chomped. She's better now, but not a lot of info as the Dumbfucks refuse to update us.

  2. Damn, man... I loved going through the car-wash with my grandparents too... and while our car seats weren't as restrictive, grandma used to hold me in her lap when we went through the suds. Hold on, need a sec, here, got something caught in my eye...

Have a great weekend with the Grandbebe, BC - the Papa Bear (well, Uncle Bear) within me honors the Papa Bear within you. Much respect!

  3. This is why it is so important for young guys on /ourside/ to have families, it gives us something to fight for. If I didn't have a wife and kids it would be easy to just hide away and wait for death.

  4. This.

Our first Granbebe is now six weeks old. His name is Logan (Wolverine!). That young innocence is pure magic. Seriously. Folks like us would stop a bullet by reflex to defend them. (Obviously not a recommended course of action, just a state of mind and soul).

The evil that is trying to destroy our country from within would not. They are each all in for themselves, which will be their undoing, and is why we will win. They have sold their collective souls long ago.

  6. What I wouldn't do to see the world through her eyes for just 5 minutes...

  7. I also defend the long list of effort and inventiveness that made something as benign as an automated car wash possible. I also defend maintaining the culture that makes it possible for one to keep working for longer than a day, a culture that every turd worlder wants to immigrate to, and a culture that would be destroyed utterly if all that wanted to were able to.

  9. BC, I have 7 (holy shit I'm old...) grandkids, and they are the reason this ol'Marine does his best to keep his skills sharp. "This I'll defend" indeed; brother. Lord bless you and your family on this Resurrection Sunday, be safe. - Grandpa
